A decorated table with cupcakes and a cake at an event.

On Telegraph Road in Flat Rock, Lodge #1731 has built a reputation one fish fry at a time. Ask anyone in Downriver Michigan where to find the best Friday fish fry and the best turkey dinner, and the answer keeps coming back to this address. That 4.6-star rating across more than 100 reviews is not an accident. It is the result of a kitchen that takes its food seriously and a staff that treats every guest like a member.

The hall itself earns its own praise. The fireplace has served as a backdrop for memorials, milestone birthday parties, graduation celebrations, and charity fundraisers. The facility is spacious enough to host large combined events without feeling crowded, and the restrooms are consistently called out in reviews, which tells you something about how the Lodge maintains its space.

Beyond the building, Lodge #1731 runs the kind of programming that keeps a community engaged. Dueling piano nights with steak dinners and silent auctions. Seasonal dinners that draw regulars back year after year. Events that raise money for veterans, youth programs, and local causes. This is what the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks looks like when a local chapter does it right.

What We Offer

The fish fry is the headline act, drawing crowds every Friday with crispy, generous portions that locals have been talking about for years. The turkey dinners run a close second, and both are priced the way a lodge dinner should be, affordable enough to bring the whole family.

The banquet hall seats groups large enough for corporate events, wedding receptions, graduation parties, and memorial services. The fireplace wall gives formal events a warm, distinguished backdrop that most event venues in the area simply cannot match. Setup, cleanup, and helpful staff come with the rental.

Special events fill the calendar throughout the year. Dueling Pianos fundraiser nights combine dinner, drinks, and live entertainment into one ticket. Silent auctions support local and national Elks charitable initiatives. Membership in the lodge itself opens doors to a national fraternal network, community volunteer opportunities, and a social calendar that keeps Flat Rock connected.

"Very nice facility. We rented the hall for a combination graduation & memorial service. We had plenty of room for both. The restrooms were nice. The fireplace made a fabulous backdrop for the memorial service. There was a screen for the video show. Plenty of room for tables for everyone to sit. Plus seating for memorial service. Plenty of room for display tables & food. The kitchen facilities are awesome. I would highly recommend this place for any event. There is also a stage which we did not use. Also a mini bar area."
